The session will present some relevant aspects in the development of innovation environments and its impact on higher education institutions. The role of the University in the triple and quadruple helix processes, and the models and trends for the effective implementation of innovation environments and habitatswill be discussed.

Executive Director of the College of the Americas (COLAM)

Fernando Daniels holds a Master's Degree in Public Health from the Université Laval and a Specialist in Environmental Impact Assessment from Concordia University, Canada. He has worked in the field of cooperation in higher education in Latin America for more than 15 years. He has extensive experience in the management of technical cooperation projects, promotion of academic networks and implementation of communities of knowledge and practice. He has directed numerous training and technical cooperation projects in the areas of internationalization of higher education, use of ICT in education, e-Government and digital citizenship, social determinants of health, management of innovation and social innovation. He is the coordinator of the International Congress of Knowledge and Innovation (CIKI-2018) and of the Inter-American Program for Training in Management of Innovation Environments (PIFGAI). He is currently the Executive Director of the College of the Americas (COLAM) program of the Interamerican University Organization (OUI) and the OUI Foundation.
